After working a night last night and then visiting my son in his home home and out to lunch with my Dad I couldn't go windsurfing to late afternoon. Arriving at 3:30 just as my mate Mark Smalling had rigged and the wind dropped !!! but at least the sun had returned :) With no choice but to rig the raceboard, I then beat down the coast and turned by the old windsurfing hut (now long gone) and reached back, I played in the fast flowing River Deben with the kiters for awhile before reaching to East Lane martello tower and then beat back to the hut and reached back, I was always a bit under powered but it is good fun sailing the raceboard in the big sea especially in the river mouth !! and it was fairly mild - 18 degrees :) I was out 2/3 hours making the most of the conditions while the shortboarders struggled :(
